~ The Weekly Update ~

Friday of the Fifth Week in Lent (OF) / Feast of the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady (EF)

Greetings GenChrist,

We’re rolling out a text-message service – those who opt-in will receive reminders of activities going on in GenChrist and at St. Thomas the Apostle, as well as occasional ‘retweets’ of Pope Benedict XVI’s twitter feed. If you’d like to try it out, please text your name to the GenChrist GVoice number: (734) 719-1147

This Sunday night, Fr. Gerald Gawronski will lead our meditation in the Parish Hall. Thank you to those who participated in our survey in January – we’ll be sharing some of the most interesting findings after this Sunday’s Holy Hour.

There will be no GenChrist Holy Hour on Easter Sunday though you are, of course, invited to join the parish-wide adoration in the parish hall after the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Thursday evening.

In Christ,
Paul Schultz

GenChrist Notes

Pope Benedict’s Prayer Intentions
Each month, Pope Benedict XVI announces his special prayer intentions–particular things that he wishes all Catholics to pray for that month. (When, for instance, we pray the rosary and say the prayers at the end for the intentions of the Holy Father, these are the intentions for which we’re praying.) Pope Benedict offers two intentions every month, one general, and one for a particular Catholic missionary activity.

His general prayer intention for April 2012 is “that many young people may hear the call of Christ and follow him in the priesthood and religious life.”

Pope Benedict’s mission intention is “that the risen Christ may be a sign of certain hope for the men and women of the African continent.”

St. Catherine House
The Saint Catherine House is currently accepting applications for this summer/fall.
Saint Catherine House (SCH) is a house of discernment for young Catholic women (college and graduate students and young professionals) who are seeking a deeper relationship with the Lord as they determine their vocation in life.
If you would like more information about Saint Catherine House, or are interested in becoming a resident, please contact Sister Mary Ann Foggin.
